A pretty non-descript game in which it looked like Villa wouldn't score if they played until midnight appears to have been settled by the opposition scoring for Villa in the eighty eighth minute. :(

I meant to post this at the time but I was pretty sure that this decision was made by the fourth official having watched a video replay of the incident.

I believe Mr. Bennett and his colleagues are being slightly economical with the truth. Why else is the assistant holding his earpiece as if straining to hear somebody else when the referee is trying to speak to him through the very same ear?!

I believe there was a similar claim a year or so ago when it appeared there was 3rd party interference! If it is helping make the correct decisions, maybe the introduction of such an idea should be made public!

It was none other than the World Cup Final of 2006 Vegy!

On both occasions, the correct decision was ultimately reached. However, if they say they are not permitted to use it then it should not be used, regardless of whether the decision is correct or not. This is how football has existed through the ages.

Now if they sanctioned the use of such replays, it undoubtedly would result in correct decisions being made.

I just don't like the hypocrisy of it all.

I don't condone the use of technology ain football at all. Not unless they are going to implement it right down to the Sunday leagues. Obviously that's uneconomical so they shouldn't even start!
