A bad day for Setanta eh.

More than 80% of live televised Premier League games will appear on BSkyB after the broadcaster snatched some of the TV rights from rival Setanta. The broadcasters have each won one of the two remaining packages of UK broadcast rights for 2010 to 2013.

Bad all round really I think as competition's always good. Although less of listening to Craig Burley can only be a good thing. To hear him you'd have thought he never misplaced a pass, struck a shot off target or committed a foul.

On a tangent from this does anyone else feel the quality of the Premier league has dropped? There's been an awful lot of very average games.

Yeah good for Motor Racing fans it begins on BBC next Month doesn't it?

I wonder what Setanta will try and nick off Sky now, they are bound to try and get something from them. Not sure what is left mind! :doh

In Scotland cows are coos... so I looked for a pic of a large coo.... funnily enough the first pic was Vanessa Feltz :yikes:

That is one big Coo...unless of course the woman is only 3 feet tall? :)

If they could take the PDC darts off Sky, it would hurt them a little but its obvious they wanted that other package of football back big time. Sky business is built on Football, they can't afford ever to lose the Premier deal and it wont happen unless they want it to. It leaves Setanta with only 23 games now compared to the 46 they have on this deal. Mind you they do have the FA Cup. Maybe they might go and bid high for the Spanish footie, Setanta do show a lot of European matches but the French and Portuguese are not the best to watch sometimes.:ooo

I've had a compliant from the COO movement about that, please retract your statement  .....next you'll be saying Gordon Brown is a one eyed idiot! :splapme

...and WHAT the ::swear has that statement got to do with some disabled group? Maybe we need to rename one armed bandits, as one armed disabled people are not bandits! :headbange

Haven't seen as many games as previous seasons since I moved Matt, and MOTD only show goal chances!

They play football up there? :omg: Seriously, I used to love watching Scottish football on Sky years ago, some really good games. I couldn't tell you who plays for who now...even Rangers and Celtic take Championship players now don't they...just no money in their game at all...its a real shame.

I'm gutted - I get Setanta for free through Virgin. Without the footy, it is likely I will watch it as often as I tune into Eurosport (is that still going??) :(

Yes, in between talking about games we've just seen highlights of! Why we need analysis on a highlight show is beyond me. 5-10 minutes of highlights then 3 minutes of analysis on those highlights :ermmm.

Is anyone old enough to remember Screensport from the early 90's? It was even worse that Eurosport from what I remember! :D

I think MOTD need to go down the 'You've Been Framed' route by dumping the studio presenters altogether, and getting Harry Hill to do the commentaries... dirty boy! :wink

I remember that yeah. Paris-Dakar Rally always seemed to be on! But I seem to remember they did have Brazilian football which was quite good.

Thats right yes. I remember visiting my Aunties in Cleethorpes in about 90 or 91 and stopping the night, going through the channels and found Brazilian football I think! :) But apart from that...it wasn't the best. Think it survived till I got Sky in about 92 but seemed to disappear...we was gutted! :D
