My daughter has just set up a web page to help and inform those parents who have given birth to children born with a heart defect. The number of children born thus are about 8 per 1000 of the population, not counting those that die during pregnancy.
The web site www,congenital-heart-defects.co.uk was set up to educate people and show the defects are not a death sentence anymore.
Hazel was born with a congenital heart defect and had open heart surgery 2 weeks past her second birthday. The operation was called Transposition of the Great Arteries by Mustard/Senning procedure.
