Place market, could someone explain

Hi,

Is there anybody bet on the place market? Could you give a brief explanation of the market, and the differences from the win market. It seems it can have several winners?

It seems the odds are quite short, so I want to try using the WOM on the place market. Are there any unusual behivour or pitfalls that I should know of?

It seems it can have several winners?You're betting on a horse to place rather than win. This means (usually) for a horse to finish in the top 3 so obviously there can be several winners - 3 in this case. That's why the odds are shorter - 1st, 2nd and 3rd all count the same, as a win in the place market, so the horse doesn't need to beat everything he's up against.

You need to compare the odds with those on the Tote place market.
