I think cars are a bit of a rip off

Buying an audi A4 or A6 this week have been comparing ebay with autotrader and

the one i am looking at one on autotrader and the one i am going to look at is a 2004 1.9 TDI 85000 miles for £6000

ebay the same model there are only two 3 under 100,000 miles all 3 have 4 days or more and cheapest is £6495 :yikes:

and i thought ebay was supposed to be good :doh

same sort of situation with bikes. Higher priced on ebay but most of them are not auctions there classified's... the auctions dont seem to fetch any money at all....

I don't think I'd ever be tempted to buy something expensive on ebay!

The most expensive thing I bought off Ebay was a poker table and had no issues with that. I used to buy a lot of books of there as it was often cheaper than Amazon and they were generally in good nick.

I'm not criticising ebay mind, my wife loves it. Can't get her off the damn thing!

I recently bought a garden table and 4 chairs, and 2 garden recliners from ebay and they were absolutely excellent and a quarter of the price of our local garden centre. I have also sold surplus books there and bought some too. Never tried buying/selling a car though - too big an item, too complicated, too much risk of being ripped off. I think if you stick to items under a couple of hundred pounds and are careful, it`s fine.
