Footballs Big Four urged to share.

The government want Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool to share their championship league winnings with other premier league clubs.

Another proposal is sharing the leagues £1 billion revenue from television and sponsorship between all 20 teams.

They also want a compulsary quota of English players in team line ups.

I can't see the managers being very happy with any of this.

What's the point in other teams stiving for success if they are going to get a share anyway?

Isn't the point of comeptition that the winners get the most rewards?

I would also point out that if money is needed by anyone, it isn't the 16 other teams in the premier league!

Pretty soon English football is going to be like US soccer where there is a closed door and teams in the "Premier League" won't face being relagted, just the embarassment of finishing bottom

Then there will be the other football league, with all teams part time and smalll crowds.

Some people may say that it is progress and survival of the fittest and all that, but I will consider it a shame and an abomination of everything footbal meant when the FA was estabvlished all those years ago!

(Although saying that, perhaps it is a return to the old days of snobbery when clubs had to be elected into the league!)
