Artwork banned.

The Manic Street Preachers new album has been banned for sale in supermarkets due to it's cover.
The cover depicts a girl with a bloody face and has been painted by acclaimed artist Jenny Saville.
Sainsburys, Tesco, Asda and Morrisons have all refused to stock it with the original image.
It will only be available in these stores in a special sleeve provided by the publisher
The Manics have reacted with bafflement at the news, calling their decision "truly bizarre" and pointing to the fact that such shops regularly display products
of a similarly graphic nature. "We just thought it was a beautiful painting.

The old adage of 'no such thing as bad publicity' applies. If it wasn't already destined to be a number 1 album, it is probably well on the way to being now!

I would personally have an issue with the choice of cover - it has nothing to do with either the name of the band or the title of the album and (even taking into account that the Manics seem to think a portrait of a young girl with a bloody face is a 'beautiful painting') it looks to have been specifically chosen for its shock value.

The band know the artist personally and have use one of her paintings in the past as an album cover - again dinated to the band for free, so I guess it's a mutual publicity thing as her work sells for thousands of pounds. I don't like the painting, not because of the content, I just think the style is crap!

Pah, looks like a boy to me... I would've given Jenny a grade F for that that!
