I am looking to book a week away for me and the missus next year at a race meeting but not sure which would be the best for 3 days

I really fancy the gold cup meeting but i have heard stories thats its to packed and a nightmare of a meeting due to amount of people

Have done Aintree

What would people reccomend from past experiences , looking for a good meeting pref with nice weather and a decent town nearby for eating out and with a bit history behind it , will consider Ireland as well

All advice welcome

Tony

I'm a great fan of York. The June meeting is only 2 days, but features some top quality racing and you could spend a full day just in and around the town - and they raise a few quid for charity at the same time! There are some excellent restaurants around town and there are plenty of places to stay for all budgets.

I keep hearing nice things about Chester, the town as well as the racecourse. Not been myself though
