Surprised no one else has mentioned this heroic horse, four in a row in this race is something we'll never see in our lives again, and he could make it 5....6...7....:omg:
I've never thought he's a tough a Double Trigger, but he hasn't really had the chance to prove that being just to good for the field to get into a hard battle up the run in.

He is a phenominal animal! He just shot clear
Full credit to the second for keeping on at the end! Anout a furlong and a half out I thought he may challenge, but Yeats was never really in trouble of relinquishing the lead he had built up!
If there was an horsey hall of fame he'd be in it!

At his age, and the doubts about his fitness, he had one hell of a kick off that final bend.
In the 90's they considered scrapping this race, along with the St Leger, and other staying races :splapme .....It is these races that produce the hero's the public can relate to as they do not go to stud, they appear year after year. On top of that they are well supported by the big yards, and you could see the emotion in O'Brien and the winning jock. :)
Incredible performance really. If this was the Cheltenham Gold Cup and not the ascot one, there'd be a lot more wrote about him!
I love the staying races - when he hit the bend, Murtagh let him go knowing he would stay and it was pure pleasure to watch. O'Brien is normally very calm in interviews - never saw him getting emotional like that.
