Not having much luck at the moment.
After yesterday's lay winners trading at massive prices just before the end of the race, Solemn, which was a system back, just traded thousands at 1.01 but still managed to lose. :(

Ignorance is bliss for me as I don't watch the races either on TV or via the Betfair markets - not sure my heart could take it sometimes

After a terrible june, July so far has been kind to me.
3 losers from 3 races today though

8 backs for me today. The first four lost, the second four won. And I got good prices too, 10/3 for The Last Alzao (11/4 SP) and 7/2 before a 25p Rule 4 deduction about the double system qualifier Astroleo that went off at 5/4, giving me more than double SP on that one.
I had two small priced winners on the lays with 33 bets matched. I profited nicely there, up 24.20pts on the day.
With this and the poker profits I made earlier it's been a decent day :)

A great day for me. Won twice as much as I lost yesterday! :wiggle:
Bottled a Stewards Enquiry for the first time ever with Astroleo. Layed off at 1.02 just in case but was so annoyed with myself for placing a "non-system" bet which, to me, was a sign of indiscipline as I usually ride it out.
Would anyone else have layed off?

Would anyone else have layed off?Personally, no. Unless I could put myself in the position of being able to do that for every race in which the option arose, and I most certainly can't, then I wouldn't do it. Also as you say it's a 'non-system' bet, turning a back bet into a trade. Under my strict disciplinary rules I would have had to record the back as a winning system bet and the lay as a losing method lay, and I try to avoid method bets as I know very little about picking horses.
But sometimes we have to bend the rules for the sake of our own sanity at the time :)
