The lays were doing well again until Trotsky stormed home in the 4.45 :(
My biggest bank and a winner at 9.0 :(

I must admit I don't take bad beats very well and the 5.50 at Stratford was a bad beat. ;fire
£10,000 matched at 1.01 and still lost.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, it never happens the other way. :(

Why is it that, just when you think you're getting somewhere, you take ten steps back?
Another system back trades heavily odds-on and loses. :(
I new it was going to be a bad day when a double system back got turned-over at 1.48 in the first race. :(

And a double winning lay in the 7.30 at Epsom rounds off a ::swear::swear::swear::swear day.
Involved in fifteen races - lost money in twelve of them.
Biggest win in the three races I won money in - £6.47.
Has a favourite won a flat race today?

Does anyone on here lower there bets or cancel them when the grounds Heavy?

Does anyone on here lower there bets or cancel them when the grounds Heavy?I never let the weather or going affect my staking. I don't know how each individual horse may be affected by these factors so I ignore them. After all, how do I know the ground is heavy? The official going isn't always correct or reliable so I can't use that. And I don't watch the races to be able to have a chance of telling that way. So I don't let it concern me. I have had good days in the bad weather and bad days in the good weather - I assume it will all even itself out in the long run.
Plus most of my bets are system bets that are known to be profitable based on a solid staking plan that doesn't take into account the weather and because of that I don't take it into account either, else I turn system bets into method bets effectively

I had a terrible terrible day today as well, I have done so badly on all the big race meetings- I really couldnt have done worse if I was actually trying to!

It is indeed!
Sorry you are having a bad time mate.
My last action of the day is in the 8.20 where I have a back matched at 15.0. Even if it won twice over I wouldn't be in profit today.

I added a couple of new (back) systems to my portfolio today and they had an OK start. I finished with figures of 5 from 17, up 0.68pts on the backs and 4 winners from a quiet day of laying with just 16 bets leaving me down 9.17pts

Sounds like you have had a bit of a rough ride lately too.
Im still slightly up for July at the moment, a good day tomorrow and I will still be happy with July, a bad day tomorrow would mean that I would have been slightly down overall in july, I had a very bad June though so I could really do with it being a + month

A small piece of damage limitation on the 20.50 which is the last race of the day for me.

I used to always lower my stakes during a sudden ground change, but they mess the ground up so many times these days themselves I just don't bother.
Not a bad day really even though I'm down, as I had decent wads on two short priced NH runners.

Bit of a nothing day, few quid up thanks to Fyelehk in the 2035 at Epsom. Overall 4 winners in 12 bets, +0.49 pts which equated to less than £10 up. Thats three days in a row with positive results...which is the longest streak I've managed in July!!
