I'm feeling a little better this afternoon. Or at least I was until a chunky double lay went in in the 3.00 :(

Ha, that would have been a double winner for me...if Betfair had registered my bet on it. Ended up only having a very small stake on it through one system. Sigh, I must pay more attention !

Another poor day on the cards. :(

The afternoon session was topped and tailed by double systems lays but it was clean inbetween for me. Nothing doing on the backs though and the dutching is suffering too unfortunately.

Here's to a better evening...

The winning lay in the 7.35 at 8.2 on my biggest bank ensures I will end today down a considerable amount. :(

Did the W2W lays bank start off your biggest Jonah or just grow to be that way? It's my smallest because I just cannot get it off the ground

Not a great day, but not a disaster. Afternoon was ok with Azizi, Cheam Forever and Radio City...but the evening was a washout. Lots of 2nd's though - grr

A truly awful day.

I have lost more than a quarter of my combined bank in August already - and it's only the fifth. :yikes:

Started at the same point as all my other lay banks Mat - £200.

As high as £520 around ten days ago but now around £360.

Glad to see you are better by the way mate. :)

Started at the same point as all my other lay banks Mat - £200.May I ask when you started and what staking plan you use?

I started those lays on 9th November 2008 with a £200 bank and mine stood at £197.79 at the end of yesterday (peak £346.46 on 11th April, low of £160.40 on 5th July). I use my standard lay staking plan of 1% fixed stake rounded down to the nearest 50p and with a £2 minimum bet adjusted daily. So I bet £2 on each selection till the bank reaches £250, then £2.50 till I get to £300 etc. If the bank goes down, so do the stakes.

That's how I have started all my lay banks and even before the boosts I gave some banks recently they have all generally done better than the W2W lays bank. It's not losing me much in the long run (and has never looked like doing so) but I keep it in for turnover and thus slightly reduced commission rather than profit.

Just done my figures from yesterday and it wasn't too pretty.

2 from 12 on the backs, down 8.27pts there

5 from 31 on the lays with two double winners, up 0.71pts there

8 from 16 on the flat dutches, and each win is netting me a lot less than each loss is costing me. Down another 5.8xBB. This bank has dropped from £200 on the first of the month to £71.88 at the end of the fifth day using 5% per race adjusted daily. I have set a 30% bank barrier on the bank and if recent performances are anything to go by that will get triggered today
