I have spent some of this morning going through the wreckage of yesterday to see how things stand. It was my Mark Johnston bank that has suffered most recently although the lays have taken their hits too, but in the case of the lays it has generally been quite well spread across the systems so no one system seems to have suffered that much overall. I think because of that things may not be as bleak as I feared.

My Mark Johnston bank has dropped 16.4pts this month on top of losses of 2.5pts in September and another 4.7pts in August so we really need so see something from his runners today if we are to stem the tide. Fingers crossed.

The day has started on a fairly bright note though as I backed Davydenko to beat Nadal in the Shanghai Masters tennis at 2.67 :)

Jeez, we can't even get a Mark Johnston winner when it's 1.6. :(

And Alazan follows Demonstrative into the losers column. That's 5 bets down on those two horses alone and it's a long climb back to breakeven

Dont tell the wife would help nicely in the next, failing that Calusa Caldera:thumbs

Don't tell the wife qualified for my three biggest systems.

It had a chance at the last and decided to go all around the world to avoid the horse that fell. ;fire

And my first lay of the day goes in too. This could be another disaster in the making

This is just getting stupid now.

Fin Vin De Leu and Hindu Kush qualified for three systems between them but are comfortably beaten by the Win2Win Lay. ;fire

Now Sovereign Remedy goes in at 8.4. ;fire;fire;fire;fire;fire;fireI had fought for a while to get a decent price on Nightjar in that race and once I was on at 9.6 it drifted right out to 16+ too. Things just aren't going my way at all at the moment

If there are another three losers on the Mark Johnston system, it will mean that all nine flat back systems I am running will be in negative territory.

Seven of the other eight are at least half of what they were when they started.

The Jockey Rides system bust one bank and was well on the way to busting another until it was suspended and the Running For Profit and 72xx banks are only a few bets away from busting.

And the lousy prices aren't just on the backs either. I put in an order to lay Halaak on three systems for 9.8 when it was trading at 10.5/11.5 and a few minutes later it's trading at 7.8/8.0 ;fire

I don't think I could cope if Hallak won this next one!

I don't think I could cope if Hallak won this next one!No, that one would have truly wiped me out. Thankfully it lost but it's still been a rough old day. I put my bets on about 10-15 minutes before the off in the 3.50 and got 4.5 on Simple Rhythm when it was trading mostly around 4.2/4.3 but it went off about 6.0. All the markets are moving against me today

I got 8.6 on that 5/1 winner .... every little helps :thumbs Still down over the last 3 days though, but will be an OK day if I win the 4.00 & 5.10, although one is odds-on and the way they have gone today :ooo

The 4:35 and 5:10 will help me today, mainly the 5:10 as its multiple system qualifiers:omg:

The three remaining Trainer 3 qualifiers hosing up would improve my mood considerably. :)

A fantastic start. :wiggle:

The Mark Johnston stable is definitely going out with a whimper though!

Believe it or not I just about broke even today when you include all sports bets. The football (Spanish and Turkish) certainly helped on that front. I was up a couple of quid (and no more) on the lays but well down on the horses I backed but that earlier tennis win and the football dragged me back out to break even.

5 from 19 on the backs, down 6.09pts but mostly big points again

5 from 33 on the lays, up 4.96pts
