my friends got a laptop with vista on it's a dell , you are asked for a password when you turn on this it excepts and windows boots up, you are then asked for your logon password which keeps coming back as incorrect even though it is the real password, is there a way to reset, bypass this or is there a default password for vista :headbange HELP please it is doing my nut in.

I did this for someone this year piggy, it worked and let him into his laptop. You just need to burn the ISO image to a cd and then boot up with the rescue disc. Of course you need to print out the destructions first too. :)

The most common cause for this (on laptops) is that the Num Lock key has changed - try toggling between off and on with the same password.
