Not a great end to the year catching Greek Secret on one of my lay systems. I cut off at 11.0 but laid it at 10.0 before it drifted to 16/1 SP and won!

I know I should be happy about getting such a huge underlay but I'm never happy to see a winner go in on the lays.

Still, it's not something to get too down about, it's all part of gambling

Just have to take it on the chin Mat, I managed to catch Handsome Cross at 10/1. Been a good december though for me overall with about 13 points over the NHPM and layem.

Just have to take it on the chin MatOh absolutely. I had Elusive Ronnie in the 3.00 at Lingfield at 8.6 and that went off at 17.0 BSP. I just seem to be picking up drifters today. Good for the overlay stats at least.

I changed my staking midway through the month but am currently 9.84pts up on the NHPMs and 9.01pts up for the Lay'ems for December. The system that caught that 16/1 winner is up nearly 15pts too, and that comes despite winners at 9.2 and 10.0 (twice) in the past 10 days or so.

Had I not been operating bank barriers today I would have broken even (lost 64p) but as it is I lost around £50 as I missed out on some lays that would have earned me a few quid. This is the lay system that has been bouncing around barrier level for a few days now and has crept back above the barrier so no doubt it will have a losing day tomorrow and go back below it and into paper trading again. Such is life I guess.

Other: 18 from 21, up 2.66pts

My figures for 2009 are as follows
W2W Systems: 689 from 2112, down 9pts
W2W Lays: 2689 from 3138, up 88.12pts
Other: 3657 from 5873, up 4990.37

These figures include bets from systems that are no longer in my portfolio so are not a true representation of how my current portfolio performed during 2009, rather they represent the figures for all the bets I struck in this year.

A small loss today but not too bad at all.

Backs 0/4 -4pts
Lays 2/2 +1.90pts

As I only started up with these early November,(& learning all the time, I didn't have complete daily results in my spreadsheet then!) I thought I would just put figures for December in, November only provided a small loss anyway.

For December I finished overall up 27.57pts, +37.89pts on the lays and -10.32pts on the backs. Let us hope January is kind to all of us. :)
