Aw Peza, i thought it got easier as a person gets older. I'm 35 and a bad result pisses me off so much that most friends of mine leave me alone for a day or two before saying anything. My 7 year old daughter despises Liverpool with a passion(daddy's girl) and i don't even live in Manchester. Guess we have to take the crappy days with the great ones and just hope we have more of the latter

For Peza to cheer you up
From a fan on BBC site:
"Last time we lost 2-1 away in a cup knock-out round we won the home leg 7-1 against Roma in 2007. Let's hope for the same next week!"

What a game... I saw it over two television screens... since the pub had a POWER CUT 20 minutes in :( So I hung around for a bit in anticipation, spoke to some Irish fella who tried to get me into Chris Rea (musically, not literally, thankfully) and I was having none of that so I left. I come home to find it 1-1, missed both goals, and City dominating. Tevez is a class act, it bloody hurts watching him at City since he's on dare I say prolific form at the moment.
So gutted for you Peza, don't let it spoil the rest of your week though mate. At the end of the day it's only a football match and United will win the league anyway... ain't that right Piggy? :D
P.S. Rep awarded for Chancer's daughter. You brought her up well mate. :thumbs

I thought United lacked drive and ambition last night and it was only Rooney who really seemed up for it for most of the game. He was the only one able to provide that cutting edge they needed. City were average for chunks of the game. Tevez was amazing, again. And the penalty was the wrong decision, the foul was outside the area.

I agree Mat, Rooney was virtually playing against them on his own the second half. Not that Man City were up to much I didn't think, Tevez apart of course and I thought Bellamy played ok too. De Jong and Barry are so defensive in midfield, I'm surprised he didn't put Ireland on. Given made a couple of great saves as usual. That guy is worth 10-15 pts a season.

Matt, i was born there but raised here. Bred as a red.
The 451 system United use means they keep the ball well but don't make enough chances. We need a settled team - 11 first choice. I don't think Fergie is sure of it. The only first choice players are evra, rooney, valencia and van der sar(vidic and ferdinand when fit). Personally i'd like to see Rooney play attacking midfield behind 2 strikers with 2 wingers like mc clair and scholes used to(both those players started out as strikers)

Just kidding Chancer :D
I think you could be right there, giving Rooney a kind of free role behind the strikers would suit him. He has everything in his game. I know it's easy to say but the loss of Ronaldo can't be underestimated, the goals and assists he contributed take some making up. Valencia seems to have come on a bit lately but players like Nani, Obertan and Park aren't going to make up that shortfall. Add that to the downward curve that Scholes and surely sooner rather than later Giggs are on and he needs a couple of top quality signings sooner rather than later.

You're always upsetting Mancs you Matt! :laugh
For what it is worth, I reckon Utd will win the 2nd leg, I aint super confident but I think they'll have enough. It is only half time after all and I watched Everton beat City quite easlily at the weekend. Yes it is a derby match and owt can happen but I think they can do it.
Given is very good, wish he was English. :ermmm

:D
I was thinking that today, I don't know whether it says more about Man Utd that City were not good at all (other than Tevez who's winding up by Man Utd backfired rather spectacularly!) and still won. Admittedly but for Given it may have been a different story but City have looked quite ordinary these past two games. Their central midfield of Barry and De Jong has the creativity of a Portsmouth one sporting Hughes and Mokoena :laugh Although with a lot more talent in defensive areas.

I wish I had seen Neville giving Tevez his salute...I missed that somehow. :doh
At least Tevez has guaranteed himself a warm reception next week on a cold Manchester night. :D

I think Fergie shot himself in the foot a bit saying he wasn't worth 25 million. Tevez was excellent at West Ham and the first season at Man Utd and I don't think he was that poor last season was he?? He's a quality player if Ferguson didn't want him or to pay the high wages then fine but saying he's not worth that when he paid 30m for Berbatov and 16m? for Valencia (not to mention 26m for Veron) is a bit rich. Also he's like the ever ready bunny ,he doesn't stop running from first minute until the last. He covers more ground in 5 minutes than Berbatov does in a game :laugh

Tevez is a decent player but listening to 5Live last night, I am sure they said the total Tevez deal to City was over £50 million....is that right? :omg:

Journos like to quote big numbers so often bundle the transfer fee in with the wages over the lifetime of the contract to get the value of the 'deal' as a whole, and will usually round up a bit too.
