I will start

One of my favourite horses ever was One Man , fantastic horse and had that little bit of showemanship about him, also he was a grey which made him stand out that little bit more.

Fantastic Jumper , the queen mother chase in 1998 was fantastic one man at his best and his crowning glory should have been the national which he ran a perfect race up until the 9th where for some reason instead of his usual perfect jumping he ran straight into the fence which sadly ended his life.

lowe1, thanks for bring back great memories of the courageous ONE MAN a very good choice to start this thread.

I love the many long established traditions associated with our sport, but one exception for me is the Grand National i will not even watch it let alone try and make money from betting on it.Almost every year there are fatalities caused IMOP by horses being asked to jump unique obstacles of which they have no or little experiance.

What a good idea this thread is and i hope members feel able to give the input it deserves.

I love watching the best horses contesting the top races and reading about
the men who train and ride them.but on a regular basis in this great sport there are so many unsung heroes to whom i hope members will feel able to pay tribute to via this category.

There will be many worthy of mention from the past but i would like to highlight a current example NOUN DE LA THINTE (shame about the name)and his trainer venetia williams who despite having problems in her yard this season has placed this game horse to win its last five races the last four of which have been hcap chases congratulations to horse and trainer.
