Could become the first Brit to win a grand slam in 70 odd years I think it is.

I still don't think he is as popular as Tim Henman though.

Will you be watching him in the final and mor eimportantly, will you be cheering him on?

I cant stand Tennis. I did like Tim Henman though coz I used to lay him every year at Wimbledon and made a good few quid from it.

I would not do that with Murray though, it seems he has a tougher streak in him.

I don't mind tennis when it is 5 sets, but I can't stand the 3 set matches. When the game involves stamina you get a much better game, aka Nadal v Federer at Wimbledon.

I've been watching some of Murray's games in this tournament and he's playing well but Federer will probably take him apart in the final. I hope so not least as I have money on Federer to win all four grand slams (with the intention of laying it off later in the year) and money on Murray to win zero grand slams this year. Murray winning nobbles both those bets.

Laura Robson has already won in her career over $45,000, I bet she has lots of 'friends' :laugh She needs to bulk up a bit to play the big girls though.

I agree with Mat here, I think Federer will beat him in maybe 3 or 4 sets. I hope not but I just think it is a huge step up playing him.

Murray has a record over the world No 1, leading him 6-3 on the hard court surface. So Murray should be odds-on.

I just think Federer is a different animal in the Grand Slams, Murray normally beats him in those 3 set matches you dont like. But he has had his number for the last few matches yes. You must be having some of that 6/4 on Betfair then?

And the stats I use have it 5-3 to Murray on hard courts.

There is no way Federer should be anything other than a big favourite here. Murray may only have dropped one set and have the edge over Federer in past encounters but Federer has the big match experience and knows how to win grand slam events, Murray doesn't. 8/13 about Federer sounds about right to me.

I honestly think Murray can win this. If it was Wimbledon I think the pressure would get to him but out in Australia as underdog the pressure is off. He knows how to beat Federer and that he can which is a major plus as well. Given the Grand Slam experience I think it's fair to say Federer should start a slight favourite. I would think there would be ample opportunity to lay off the 6/4 on Betfair during the match.

Murray gets better the longer he plays these days, so I'd imagine it'd go to 5 sets, but I'm not putting a 1p on it.

Yes, ever since he put some muscle on his bones a few years back his stamina has really improved, before that he used to get visably weary.

Wouldn't even matter, 3 or 5 sets, he'd get beat.
