He needs to tinker with his layout a bit and get rid of some of the default crap Wordpress puts in for new blogs. As it is I think that detracts from his content. Little things like changing the subtitle, deleting the default comment and so on. Perhaps consider moving from the default theme too as every time I see that theme I think "too lazy or not clever enough to switch themes" which clouds my judgment on what the blog actually has to say. Maybe that's just me though. A blog should be mostly about content but you can't ignore presentation

Wordpress is easy - I set up a couple of blogs on there myself at the start of the year having never blogged in my life. I guess I am pretty computer savvy though. If he needs any help he can always give me a shout and I can point him in the right direction.

My blogs are turnoveranewleaf (http://turnoveranewleaf.wordpress.com) and brainnoise (http://brainnoise.wordpress.com) if he wants to see how I have taken the default template and tweaked it to better suit my needs. I still make occasional changes to my blog layouts as they are maturing but these do for now I think.
