I've watched Seasons 1-6 of Spooks now, absolutely brilliant, and have just started watching Season 7. Season 8 (DVD) isn't being released until October. Season 9 is being aired late this year. After watching Seasons 1-6 from Boxing Day-today I really don't want to wait 7 months from now before I can watch Season 8.
Can anyone let me know how I can get my hands on it? I can't really download it from home, and it'd no doubt exceed 2Gb anyway. I'm not sure if it's being repeated on TV either. Ideally a website where you can watch these things online is what I'm after (don't mind paying for a subscription-based site), though the ones I've found so far just take me through to advertising and don't work.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks. :)

Hi john unfortuently i cannot help with your request, but just wanted to add my view about what a great program this is.
I bet the producers make good profits from repeats DVDs and over seas sales, which makes it all the more annoying when you see how much rubbish we are subjected to on TV.

Yeah when you see how many times Heartbeat is repeated on ITV3, there is no justice is there. :)
John, I can't help you with viewing the series, although I can tell you who got killed....oops? :wink

Yeah Mick & Rick it's a great show, as I say I've been totally glued to it since Boxing Day but when I found out Season 8's not available on DVD it made me think I'd have perhaps been better spreading out 1-7 a bit more! But of course the fantasticness makes that not possible.
Tony, that would be absolutely brilliant. I'm in no rush (well... :wink) but would be your best digital friend forever it that would be possible. I don't mind paying you some cash for the files either mate. I don't think I could download them though so I'd have to give you an address to send them to... as I said I don't mind giving you some money for it. Reason being we share the landlord's internet connection - I'm not sure they'd be happy about me downloading 2Gb+ which they could find out about if there's a limit on our connection. The odd album from iTunes is okay as they're smaller. Anyway, it's entirely up to you mate, no rush as you're currently away!

Hi john i understand your comment,i always find that for me the sign of a good DVD box set or book is that i will give up sleep just to keep going.
In a way its a complement, but there is a down side in that if you keep watching or reading while tired you are not really doing justice to the skills of those involved.
If you have gone through the other episoeds of spooks in this way could i suggest you watch them again, because even though you will remember the plots sometimes it is just a short scean in an episode that is so clever and sometimes when tired we miss these first time round.

I don't understand it either way Mick - tired or awake. :laugh Some of the plots are quite difficult to follow. I got rather confused for instance when there were several episodes in quick succession with regard to the Tehran train bombing. Still, it makes really good watching and some of the actors in it are absolutely brilliant. I won't mention names for obvious reasons. I'd quite happily go back and start from the beginning again though, and you're probably right - I'd understand it better second time round - usually that's the case with most things. Sometimes the way things unfold are quite shocking and unexpected but other times it's really easy to figure out what's going to happen. I have lost a bit of sleep over it Mick but not all that much! It's more of something I watch to unwind after work - usually 1-2 episodes most nights of the week gets me through them quickly. I do remember watching Season 2 (10 episodes) over 2 days though!
Are there any similar shows to Spooks I wonder? Undercover agent/spy collaborations doing their best to protect their country. 24 is similar which I must get into at some stage, though I heard it's more difficult to follow than Spooks!
Tony, thank you ever so much, that's amazing. I'll get in touch with you at the end of the month when you're back in town. :D

Hi john one of the aspects of spooks i like is as you say some great British actors/actress some of whom i dont recall seeing before,i have often thought that the unsung heroes of these productions are the casting directors, because if they get it right and the people are believable in the part they play and interact well with each other it can be the difference between good and excellent.
I have never been a great fan of TV but i must confess since buying the wide screen and sound system i have become far more interested and after much nagging from the consciouses lady in the video shop i hired series one of 24hrs i had never been a big fan of the yanks often feeling that they were OTT with thier action series, but john IMO 24 is first class and you could do a lot worse than view these while awaiting your next spooks episodes. Hope you enjoy.

Cheers Mick, I'll give 24 a try out. My sister has most of them and she's after Spooks so we'll probably do a swap in the near future...
Just watched another 2 episodes of Spooks tonight, very exciting stuff!
No more till Monday with a very busy weekend ahead.
