Man United owners to repay loans

Manchester United's American owners are to pay off their high interest Payment-in-Kind (PIK) loans, estimated to be worth around £220m.

I wonder if they've done this partly because Liverpool have cleared their debt and that left ManU out in the cold, although they'll still have the same debt, just lower interest payments.
