Hi mates,
did you know that? If yes, So I couldn't see this topic on this forum .. ..

Watch Your Bets - stalls are numbered differently for the 2011 Flat campaign. While left-handed tracks are unaffected, stalls on right-handed courses will be counted from the INSIDE, with the lowest on the left, and highest on the right, even for races taking place on the straight course. A total of 14 venues, including Ascot, Goodwood and Newmarket, will be subject to the change, which comes into effect at Leicester tomorrow. In another development, stewards will be able to declare a horse a non-runner AFTER a race has been run

I was going to say when you started doing those posts on the courses that this is probably the most important thing right now, not that I understand what difference it's going to make:anerikke:

NUMBERING OF THE STALLS

Stalls will be numbered from the inside henceforth -

previously, stalls were numbered from the left, looking from behind the stalls - this meant a low draw was inside (far side) for left-handed courses but outside (near/stands' side) for right hand courses.

Now on all courses:

LOW = INSIDE
HIGH = OUTSIDE

So that draw comparisons can continue, we have changed our database historically for the 15 right handed courses:

ASCOT
BEVERLEY
CARLISLE
FOLKSTONE
GOODWOOD
HAMILTON
KEMPTON
LEICESTER
MUSSELBROUGH
NEWMARKET (BOTH)
RIPON
SALISBURY
SANDOWN
WINDSOR

>>Example:

Ascot 2010, Ransom Note, won the 27 runner 1m Brit H'cap from stall 27 on the inside (far side). That stall will now be number one on the racecard, in last year's winning line and in the form.

A little note from this week's Weekender!

A very small note I might add too!

It makes a big difference to those using systems based on the draw.
