A married footballer granted an injunction over an alleged affair with reality TV star Imogen Thomas is named by an MP in Parliament.

I said in my previous post at the weekend on another thread that this issue was becoming ever more farcical. I asked if telly bosses would end up in court if fans chanted the player's name and the latter certainly happened, if not the former.

Despite being named in the Commons though, the injunction's still in place. :rolleyes: I think the celebrities here may have unleashed more than they bargained for, as this could well result in the law being changed and the Press given more scope to lift the lid on what the rich, famous and/or powerful get up to.

Sure, the tabloids go OTT now and again, but celebs can always give all their dough away and live in obscurity if the paparazzi bother them so much. Yes, everyone is entitled to privacy, but these guys use the media to line their pockets then try to muzzle the Press when they've a dirty little secret to hide. That kind of double-dealing always ends in tears.
