View Full Version : Betfair Non Runners?

Hi

First post here and I'm confused about how Betfair handle non-runners. I've Googled for hours but can't find the answer to my exact question which is....

I've layed Black Beauty at SP to a liability of £50 (Black Beauty was at 5.0 at the time.)

Black Beauty becomes a non runner (let's assume she just wouldn't go into the stalls?)

What happens to my bet? Does it...

1). Become null and void (in other words, I risk no money?) or

2). Does the bet still stand? If so, I'll definitely win as Black Beauty isn't running in the race (and thus, must surely lose) - in which case, what odds do I get paid at (how is my stake calculated, bearing in mind that I've laid the horse to a liability at SP?)

Hope someone can give me a quick and simple answer - it's confusing the hell out of me!

All the best

Keith

If the horse is a non-runner your bets on that selection are voided.

A deduction is made from the odds for all bets on other runners according to the amount matched on the withdrawn runner.

Thanks Mathare

Just to confirm (I'm not too worried about what happens to the other horses/bets in the market - only with my lay to BF SP on Black Beauty)...

I've layed Black Beauty at SP to a liability of £50.

Black Beauty becomes a non runner.

And thus, my lay bet on Black Beauty becomes null and void and I get to keep the money so that I can go and lose it on another horse?

All the best
