They are NOT gypsies... they are travellers. Some of the media keep confusing the two .... although not that they actually travel anywhere :crazy:

I've never been able to work out the difference between gypsies and travellers. I saw an interview with an older woman in a TV report or documentary about the gypsy/traveller lifestyle and she said that she was a gypsy but preferred people outwith her community to refer to her as a traveller as the media had long used gypsies as a (pretentious word alert on my part) pejorative term. All that happens though is that some newspapers just replace the word gypsy with traveller for any agenda they may have.

Travellers are obviously people who park up on illegally and don't travel :rolleyes: .... while a Gypsy is someone who sells Gypsum :doh
