Why not just pick 50,000 names at random in a big draw and give them all one hundred thousand pounds. Any of those picked out at random who are unemployed or on disability or any other beneift are no longer able to claim benefits for 5 years. Any who are retired cannot claim any state pension for 5 years. This would reduce the amount paid out in benefits and state pensions by some margin and increase public spending.

Ok, I'm being a bit frivilous but it would probably be better than whatever they end up doing with it!

... or reduce VAT to 10% and drop it all together off utility bills .... that'd make sure more people stay warm this winter and everyone would go on a buying frenzy for higher priced items. Also add an extra 1p onto income tax to pay for new prisons and police :thumbs
