Do you think he'll still be there to lose the next election?

If David Miliband was leader of the Labour party now, next election would be a lot, lot closer I think. You cant win elections where people believe you are right wing or left wing...you have to move to the centre. Sad thing is, its going to take a defeat for Labour to change leaders just as with Hague and Howard with the tories.

I hear that if Mister Ed doesn't get his act together, he might face the ultimate sanction. I don't mean Labour's National Executive will be gunning for him, but he'll have to be 'nice' to Diane Abbott. If that doesn't motivate him, nowt will.
On a more serious note, as a former supporter of the Labour Party, I'm disappointed that it's been hijacked by middle class, would-be intellectuals. I don't actually see much difference between the two Milibands, as they and the likes of Ed Balls are professional politicians of the worst sort, i.e., they've never had a job outside of the Westminster bubble, having basically went from school to university to full-time politics.
That may be the best route to follow in many career areas, but given the wholly unique nature of an MP's job where you're involved in making decisions which will have a major impact on the lives of millions, I'd like to see far more politicians spend at least a few years in employment in the real world and which doesn't involve policy work or the media.
Doing what, MPs may ask. Well, if an Oxbridge graduate - which Cabinets are always stuffed with - can't think of a job which provides a taste of reality before they seek election to Parliament, it says a great deal about their lack of imagination and initiative and would suggest we voters would be better off without them in the Commons.

...and that's why I can't vote for them, they all seem to be in the sam 'Nice but Dim' mode :doh1:
