Even outwith investment banking and in relatively junior posts, City of London salaries are OTT. A colleague was telling me on Friday that his daughter, who's 25 and works for an insurance firm, has been offered a job at £50k per year.
Her flatmate is the same age and earns 60 grand a year working for one of the big four accountancy firms. Obviously both girls only graduated about 3 years ago and so have limited experience, so what will they be earning in 10 or 15 years time?! :yikes:
My colleague's daughter is now looking to leave her less than luxurious pad in Peckham - no disrepect intended to Peckhamites, but I don't think all the locals are as friendly as Del Boy.
