The standards of care provided to the elderly in their home in the UK has been labelled "shocking and disgraceful" by the consumer group Which?

The wife works with Dementia and is dementia champion for Liverpool , i have picked her up at nursing homes around Liverpool and saw some horrible things and the way some of the staff speak in these nursing homes is disgusting

It is a culture thing with the way we treat the elderly. I know a lot of Filipino's and as soon as they are allowed to work in the UK they can get a job in a nursing home straight away. This is because the managers know they show care and compassion to the elderly as they do back home.
Surely during training it is easy to spot these people who don't give a :censored:

You right my wife says the best carers are the ones not from the UK , a lot in Liverpool are from Manila and she also says the Kenyan Nurse's beat ours hands down :frown:

Somewhere between now and the 50's we went from living with our grandparents to make sure they are OK, to just dumping them on social services. As normal these days in the UK, nothing is our responsibilty any more, it is always someone else's :doh1:
