We're never going to get rid of racism, it's all part of human nature, especially with over 7 Billion people on the planet you're always going to get a percentage that have some kind of 'ism'

Sadly that's true. It's a banal and perhaps depressing feature of human nature that people tend to group together with others from a similar background and you'll always get a small proportion of nutters who'll exploit differences.

Governments introduce schemes and projects to combat prejudice, however I think this is often counter-productive. Ultimately you can't force people to like each other and nothing can be legislated out of existence - if it could then prisons would be empty - but politiicians feel they have to try.

I just wish they'd be more honest about the likelihood of their plans succeeding, and it also doesn't help that most MPs live in a bubble and lead very different lives from the average person.
