OMG!!! That was the most painful English match I've ever watched.... after 30 mins I just wanted it to end ... and by extra time I was pleading for Italy to score to put us out of our misery :voodoo:

We have no idea how to keep the ball, and worse, we spent more than half the match playing defence as though we were 1-0 up!! :doh1:

And why the hell did the 2 Ashley's get to take pens? Surely Terry who has the experience, and Carroll who is a striker were a must?

I agree, we were a shambles. Not only did we look technically inferior, we looked physically inferior too. I hope the FA were watching this well as in 10 or 15 years, England won't be even getting to these tournaments the way things are going. I dont want to win like that, who does...it was terrible viewing.

We aren't that far behind the Italians in terms of squad personnel. So to have a gameplan that consisted of trying to hang on for penalties from 20 mins onwards was nothing but a disgrace and a farce.
