Each player may DOUBLE THE STAKES on up to SIX of their bets throughout the duration of this month's game.
All other stakes remain as normal. So...

If you post a (2Win) bet the stake will be 2pts.
If you post a (2Place) bet the stake will be 2pts.
If you post a (2EW) bet the stake will be 4pts (2pts EW).

ANY BET that is intended to be a Double Stakes bet (either a main selection OR reserve pick) MUST be posted as above. If the bet fails to include the '2' it will be treated as a normal 1pt Win, 1pt Place or 1pt EW.

Please note: these 6 Double Stake bets are optional.
Play any number you like UP TO A MAXIMUM of 6.
You don't have to play ANY if you don't want to.

Sorry Marcus, but
1) Why post your selections (13:57) 7 minutes AFTER the race was run?
2) This game is about taking part, NOT placing your orders in advance and then 'checking in' every so often to see how you're doing. I'm reading your post as meaning you want to have the favourite as your pick if you don't post in time. No, it doesn't work like that I'm afraid. Everyone else manages to post before the race starts (apart from the odd missed day here and there) so why should it be different for you?
Races are posted normally by 19:30 the DAY BEFORE, so this should give EVERYBODY ample time to pick and post their selections in time for the start of each race.
If you're away from the forum or on holiday, then you can give instructions to me or another player to post on your behalf for UP TO 14 DAYS MAXIMUM.
If you miss a day or post late you lose a point, it's as simple as that.
I apologise in advance if I have misunderstood the meaning of your post.

Deep apologies Ada, I must have misread the time of the off time or was placing the pick just before the race and it took that long to register the post or something.

Mentally - I am not truly with it at the moment. Though experiments with what the unconscious mind can do interests me. (reference the genius code by Paul Sheele and Win Wenger)

I try to take the competition seriously dispite the other things that are happening to me.

I noted that you stated that if a competitor could not post but had pre-stated their selection wishes that would be taken into account.
Note that I do select most days and only occasionally miss days.

If this is not acceptable or seems unfair then please accept my apology.

The only point I was trying to make was that ALL players need to be 'active' contributors to the game throughout the month as much as possible.
You miss days on occasions....so do other players.....that's nothing to worry about. Everyone is treated the same.
If you know that you aren't going to be able to post your selections (for whatever reasons, holidays etc.) then I recommend you nominate another player to post on your behalf during your absence (14 DAYS MAX).
Failing to post or posting late on any day will result in 1pt being deducted from your total.
Failing to post for periods of 5 consecutive days will also result in Double Stake Bet allowance being reduced.

The whole idea of the game is to encourage players to actively contribute (post their selections daily) as much as possible and NOT rely on 'advanced' picks EXCEPT where prolonged breaks ie holidays are concerned.
