anyone into model making or knows of a good forum for it ? i have just started going through my brother in laws garage,who passed away last year, and have found boxes of model planes that have never been opened some look as if they might have been quite expensive but i havent a clue any idea where might get some advice.? any help greatly appreciated.

Wow!! I haven't done a model plane since I was about 15. No chance of doing one these days as I wouldn't be able to grip the brush unless it was an inch wide :ooo
An ex-mate in the Phil used to spend £1000's on this type of thing :yikes:

There used to be a nice independant specialist model plane shop in Central London. A few years ago it was taken over by a bigger company. They still specialise in toys and model planes though.

At the bottom there is a link to model clubs, this might be what you are looking for. Or you could e-mail them direct to try and get an idea of value? Make sure you get a second iopinion though from another source though if you plan to sell them.

Just checked the model clubs section and that seems to be limited and mainly applies to model railways.
You could still contact the company and see if they can help though.

these seem to be the best so far, monogram phantom mustang 1:32 1995 limited edition (20,000), toad resins b.a.c. tsr2 1:72, a few airfix h.s. buccaneer s2 1:48, h.s. buccaneer s2b 1:48, lunar module 1:72 a few 1:72 matchbox now onto the next boxes

If you're not going to build them, I'm sure a local hospital/charity for really ill kids would be very grateful :thumbs ... or the local church.
