West Yorkshire Police Chief Constable Sir Norman Bettison, whose role in the aftermath of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster is being investigated, resigns.

As he should have been sacked 20+ years ago his pension should be based on his 1988 wage & payments.

Yeah, and got another 23 yrs wages in the meantime! If he's found guilty he should lose his knighthood too!


In 1998, he left West Yorkshire Police to become the chief constable of the Merseyside force - a move that was vehemently opposed by a number of families of those who died at Hillsborough.

I didn't know that, that says a lot about him.
