Straight and Reverse Forecast bets will be added to the standard Win, Place & Each Way bets on all Joint Effort Competition races posted during the Cheltenham Festival (12th - 15th March)
They are NOT ADDITIONAL to the standard Win, Place and Each Way bets, it just means players can choose to post a Straight or Reverse Forecast bet instead of a standard bet.
Players must still only post 1 bet per day......Win or Place or Each Way or Straight Forecast or Reverse Forecast.
DOUBLE STAKE BETS are allowed when posting Forecast bets.
Single Stake
(SF) = 1pt stake
(RF) = 2pts stake
Double Stake
(2SF)= 2pts stake
(2RF) = 4pts stake
a) A Straight Forecast
Post the names of the 2 horses you think will finish 1st and 2nd in that order, ie 1st HORSE A, 2nd HORSE B (SF)
If your bet is successful you will receive the SF (or 2xSF for Double Stake) dividend (in points) as quoted in the race result section of The Sporting Life**.
If your bet loses, you will have your stake deducted from your points total.
OR
b) A Reverse Forecast
Post the names of the 2 horses you think will finish 1st and 2nd in either order, ie HORSE A, HORSE B (RF).
This is effectively 2 x 1pt Straight Forecast bets - Bet 1: 1st-HORSE A, 2nd-HORSE B; Bet 2: 1st-HORSE B, 2nd-HORSE A.
If one of the bets is successful you will receive the SF (or 2xSF for Double Stake) dividend (in points) as quoted in the race result section of The Sporting Life**.
If your bet loses, you will have your stake deducted from your points total.
Please make sure you specify the (SF) (2SF) or (RF) (2RF) bet type when posting your selections.
Selections posted without the bet type above will be treated as a 1pt Straight Forecast (SF) bet.
If selections are NOT prefixed with 1st or 2nd in a Straight Forecast (SF) bet they will be treated as 1st/2nd in the order they are posted.
Bet will become void if selection(s) are declared non runners and no reserve selections have been posted, and 1pt will be deducted from your points total.
**The Sporting Life SF dividend is declared to a 1 unit stake which is included in the figure given.
Therefore, a 1pt Straight Forecast, where the dividend declared is £24.50, will payout £24.50, resulting in a profit of £23.50.
And a 1pt Reverse Forecast (2pts stake - 2 x 1pt Straight Forecasts), where the SF dividend declared is £24.50, will payout £24.50, resulting in a profit of £22.50.
