There are debates about how Microsoft will sell Windows 9, with some kind of subscription model a possibility. There is also talks about going back to the old start menu but if it turns out there is a subscription i will not be getting it at all.

Most things will be going cloud based subscription only. Operating systems, software (such as office) and most premier games. Which is all well and good if you have a super fast broadband connection as it is all in the cloud and no computer install. It will alienate all the people who live in the sticks and don't enjoy the speeds of city dwellers. In a word we are all ::hump by the corporate machine. Also they will have access to all the work everyone does in office etc, I am sure that non-Microsoft companies would love that intrusion

Bring back DOS 6.22 OS :doh

I'd prefer a subscription model. I pay £8 a month for MS Office, which includes 5 computer installs, and mobile installations on top of them. Great value. Otherwise it would cost over £1000 for that lot.

The Start Menu is likely to return in W9, as will being able to dock apps to the desktop.

12th August see's the release of a W8 update.

You can't run an OS from the cloud, as it is what runs the computer in order to access the cloud.

IE will still be around, Spartan is a browser app.

I wonder if they will make it subscription based and include cloud storage. Mind you, I've only used 200GB's of my 1TB with MS, I don't need any more space.
